Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Money
- School bag filled with water, snacks, jacket or sweater, notebook & pen
- Watch
- caffeine!
Step1
Days at flight attendant training can be really, really long. You will usually get started before the sun comes up and finish when the sun is down. Have snacks and money for coffee breaks. Dress comfortable (but of course within regulations). Also, bring a sweater or jacket the training rooms can get very cold (It has been proven people retain more in a room set at 68 degrees).
Step2
Take some money with you, the airline will pay for your room and transportation and some airlines pay for your meals as well but you will still need some money for extras like snacks and flight attendant merchandise you can buy there (ID holders, manual covers, flashlights, shirts, key chains etc.)
Step3
While you go through flight attendant training you will be staying at either a hotel near the flight attendant training center or a dormitory at the flight attendant training center and you will be assigned a roommate. It is hard at times but do your best to get along with whomever it is you are rooming with and do not complain. Regardless of who they are nine times out of ten they will end up being your friend for life as well as everyone else in your class. Follow the rules and stay professional even when you are out of class. The trainers have a way of knowing everything that goes on.
Step4
You will be required to make 90% or more on all your exams and safety drills. Every day you will be required to learn and retain alot of new information and If you do not get plenty of rest and study it will be very hard to pass. You have come this far the last thing you want to do is be sent home and you will be surprised at how many people are.
Step5
Wear a watch everyday and always be 5 minutes early. If you are not punctual you will never make it through training. They will be watching for this and you can be sent home for being even a few minutes late. This is because flight attendants must be extremely punctual.
Step6
"Eat it like an elephant one bite at a time" (This is what my grandma told me after the first day of flight attendant training). Do not become overwhelmed or break down they make this a very intense experience for a reason they want to see how well you do under stress & pressure. Keep your cool and take it one day at a time.
