- Insulated screwdrivers
- Power cables
- Cable clamps
- Wire connectors

Locate an interior wall close to the middle of the house where you can install the HVAC thermostat. Use insulated screwdrivers to attach the box of the thermostat to the wall. Fish the power cable through the box. Tighten the cable using cable clamps.

Attach a low-voltage transformer to the side of the thermostat box. Join the power cable's white and black wires to the transformer's black wires. Use a wire connector to attach the grounding wires to a grounding pigtail.

Secure the opposite end of the grounding pigtail to the grounding screw within the thermostat box. Fish wires from the HVAC thermostat and the transformer through the thermostat. Join the wires according to the HVAC thermostat manufacturer's specifications.

Turn on the power. Test the equipment to ensure it works properly.
