Make craft stick mummies at your next Halloween party or to keep your child busy on a chilly fall afternoon. Craft stick mummies are simple to make and require little adult guidance. Once the hot glue dries, children can make Halloween craft stick mummies all on their own.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 craft sticks or popsicle sticks
  • 1 wood ice cream spoon
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Several 1-inch wide strips of muslin, 12 inches long
  • Googly eyes
  1. Step 1

Trim two craft sticks to 2 1/2 inches long. Cut two more craft sticks so they are 3 inches long.

  2. Step 2

Set a wood spoon on your work surface. Glue the 3-inch craft sticks in a "V" shape on the end of the spoon handle.

  3. Step 3

Make the arms by gluing the 2 1/2 inch craft sticks in a slight downward slant just below the spoon head.

  4. Step 4

Glue the end of one strip of muslin to the bottom of one leg. Wrap the leg with the muslin and glue the end to the body after the entire leg is wrapped. Wrap each appendage of the mummy in this same manner. Wrap the body of the mummy last, making sure to cover any areas of exposed craft stick.

  5. Step 5

Lay the mummy on his back. Glue two googly eyes to the spoon head. Turn the Halloween mummy into a girl by gluing a small ribbon bow to the top of the head.
