For many women becoming a stripper is a way to earn a good deal of money while helping themselves escape a bad family life and get established on their own. However, working as a stripper can be a bit dangerous. Here are some tips on how to stay safe working as a stripper.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Work at a high-end strip club. Like everything in life, strip clubs have both high- and low-end establishments. High-end places will attract the most refined clientele. Think of strip clubs in the same manner you would if you were a waiter at a restaurant. You want to wait tables where the food costs more so you get higher tips. Therefore, you want to work at a strip club where the pricey clientele is ready to spend money.

  2. Step 2

Use the provided bouncers at the club. Any strip club worth its salt will have plenty of bouncers and a security team in place for unruly customers. Don't try to be a maverick and give special lap dances or other favors away from the eye of the bouncers.

  3. Step 3

Stick to the rules of the club. Each state has different rules when it comes to how far a stripper can go (fully or partia, lly nude) and if alcohol is allowed to be consumed at the club. Also "specialty dances" such as lap dances have different rules and regulations from state to state. Always stay within those rules.

  4. Step 4

Refuse monetary advances from customers for sexual favors. Prostitution is illegal. If you accept any money for sex, you can be arrested, prosecuted and even lose your job.

  5. Step 5

Stay clear of drugs. Strip clubs are notorious for drugs running rampant. A little taste can seem harmless at first, however, if you become addicted, you are no longer just stripping as a job, but stripping so that you can pay your dealer. Stay clean to stay safe.

  6. Step 6

Trust your instincts in the club. Let's face it, strip clubs attract some shady characters. If someone is making you feel uncomfortable, then refuse services to him. Don't be seduced by the money.

  7. Step 7

Create a long-term plan. There is nothing worse than being at a strip club and looking at the girl who has tried to hang on a little too long. Those women become desperate and subsequently put themselves in situations they live to regret. Determine how long you are going to strip for a career. Work to secure another income source and get out of the game before you get too old.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you decide to work a private party (like a bachelor or bachelorette party) bring security with you. Things can get pretty rowdy and you want someone to have your back.
