Red, ripe, plump and juicy, strawberries are one of the summer's best gifts. As delicious as they are, they're also wonderful for your skin and hair. If you have a few overripe strawberries in your refrigerator, don't let them go to waste. Combine them with other ingredients to create some sweet beauty treatments.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Give your hair extra shine with a strawberry hair conditioning mask. Mash 6 to 8 strawberries and a tablespoon of mayonnaise together in a bowl. Shampoo your hair as usual and rinse. Work the strawberry conditioner through, cover it with plastic wrap and top it with a warm towel. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse.
Step2
Treat oily skin to a strawberry facial. Mash 7 to 9 strawberries lightly in a bowl, and mix in 3 tablespoons of honey, leaving the mixture lumpy. Spread the strawberry facial on your face. Leave it on for about 10 minutes, and then rinse with lukewarm water.
Step3
Moisturize dry skin with a strawberry sugar scrub. Place 2/3 cup of sugar in a bowl and using a fork, thoroughly mix in 1 large strawberry. Add 1 tbsp. of olive oil. Massage the strawberry scrub into any dry areas, leave for 1 or 2 minutes and rinse.
Step4
Make a strawberry shower gel. Combine 1/2 cup of unscented liquid soap with 1/4 cup of water, 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, 12 drops of strawberry essential oil and 4 drops of vanilla extract. Use as a body wash in a warm shower and rinse.
