How to Use Excel's ISLOGICAL Function

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet application that makes calculations easier for the average user to compile and compute. The system quickly performs tasks that would take hours to perform by hand. If a person can operate a computer at a basic level, he can use Excel's ISLOGICAL function to compute and compile information.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Open the Microsoft Excel software program. Select the "Start" button from the operating system menu and click on "Programs" or "All Programs," depending on the operating system. Choose "Microsoft Office" on the program menu and click on "Microsoft Excel" to open the program.
Step2
Open a spreadsheet file. Select "File" from the main menu of Microsoft Excel. Choose "Open" from the file menu and browse your computer hard drive until you find the appropriate spreadsheet.
Step3
Position the mouse cursor over the cell in which you want to place output of the ISLOGICAL function. Right-click the mouse button to highlight the cell.
Step4
Type "=ISLOGICAL(cell row and column)" into the cell. For example, if you want use Excel's ISLOGICAL function in conjunction with cell C5 the formula would look like this: "=ISLOGICAL(C5)."
Step5
Press the Enter key on the computer keyboard to display the results of Excel's ISLOGICAL function. The function will result is either TRUE or FALSE. Any other result indicates an error with the data cells or formula.
