Online music is a multi-million dollar industry. It seems like everyone is enjoying music via their computer these days. The catch is that this hobby can turn expensive in a hurry. Most music websites offer song downloads for a buck each, but that adds up quickly. There are ways to listen to online music for free, here's how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search for free coupons that come with products like cereal and soda. As a bonus for buying their product, many companies offer a free download from a major online company. One needs to be alert as these offers don't last forever but do provide a source of free music.

  2. Step 2

Visit your favorite band's website. Most official websites will offer a few sample tracks in order to show you what this band sounds like. More liberal bands will give you the chance to stream entire albums off of their website. This is a decision the band makes and will not be consistent from group to group.

  3. Step 3

Check out social networking websites like MySpace and Facebook. In an attempt to customize your page, they give people the option of playing music on their page. In addition, many bands have these pages and offer free music for streaming as well.

  4. Step 4

Use Jango, a website similar to MySpace and Facebook, except it specializes in providing users the music that they want to listen to. You simply create a username and password and type in the type of music you want to listen to or which artist you're interested in. The Pandora website also offers free music through your computer.
