1
Decide on the scene you want to create for your snow globe. Take your glass jar and lid shopping for items that fit your theme so you can put them inside and see how the dimensions work for you.
-
2
Use polymer clay to create a base for your decorations to rest upon. Shape the clay inside the top of the ball and allow it to harden. Since your snow globe is an ornament, you'll decorate the top of the ball rather than the bottom.

3
Play with the placement of your figurines and buildings until you find an arrangement that pleases you. Glue each item in place with super glue. Allow your snow globe ornament to dry overnight to ensure your scene dries securely in place.
-
4
Fill a glass with equal parts distilled water and baby oil. Add a small amount of glitter and watch how it falls through the liquid. If you want it to fall faster, add more water. If you want it to be slower, add more oil. Add this mixture to your glass jar and add as much glitter as you want in your snow globe.
-
5
Create a cap for your lid by covering the exterior in polymer clay. Decorate the polymer clay with paint or markers so it matches your snow globe theme.
-
6
Use a thin needle and create a hole so you can thread ribbon through it and hang your snow globe Christmas ornament.
-
7
Use aquarium seal around the ring of the jar, inside the lid. Screw it on securely and wipe off any excess adhesive that seeps out. Leave it lid-side up for a full 24 hours. Add your ribbon and hang your snow globe ornament.

Tips & Warnings
If your snow globe ornament is too large and heavy to hang from a tree, tie your ribbon into a beautiful bow and set it on a table or bookshelf instead.
