Electronic Arts' Sims 2 Pets expands the Sims 2 universe. Players can raise, train and breed pets. Create entirely new pets with the game. Players can modify body type, face shape, markings, personality, paws and fur color. Just like humans, pets can pass their genetic traits to their offspring. Players can train generations of movie, rescue or security dogs.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create and name your pet. Sims 2 Pets comes with many dog and cat breeds. If your favorite breed isn't an option, create it from scratch. With Sims 2 Pets, players can even create new dog and cat species with exotic coats and features.

  2. Step 2

Visit websites to find codes and mods for more pet control. Players can find many at the Mod the Sims 2 website. Pet codes create custom collars, fur colors and patterns. Players can also find exotic pets, beds and new careers.

  3. Step 3

Provide for your pet's needs. Like babies, you cannot directly control your pets. They have eight needs--hunger, comfort, bladder, energy, fun, social, hygiene and chew for dogs or scratch for cats.

  4. Step 4

Train your pet. Like real pets, praise is your primary training tool. Observe your pet. Whenever his portrait has a circular arrow, run to him. Your pet has just performed a trainable behavior. Select praise or scold to train him. Keep training your dog until you fill in all the behavior bars to completely train your dog. Trainable behaviors include respecting furniture, playfulness, house trained and cleanliness.
