Acne is annoying at any age--whether you are a budding teenager or an adult. No one wants to look in the mirror and see a big red pimple. There are a myriad of ways to treat acne. The best treatment is to avoid it in the first place.

Things You'll Need:

  • Cleanser
  • Moisturizer
  • Water
  • Healthy foods
  1. Step 1

Wash your face with a mild cleanser in the morning and before going to bed. Use a cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type: normal, dry, oily or combination.

  2. Step 2

Wear your bangs off your forehead and keep the rest of your hair out of your face. Avoid getting oils from your hair on your face when you keep it pulled back.

  3. Step 3

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Avoid refined foods such as sugar and white flour. Strive to eat the recommended amounts of food from each of the five food groups daily.

  4. Step 4

Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Keep your drinks natural so that your skin will have healthy fluid to hydrate and renew.

  5. Step 5

Exercise regularly to purge impurities from your skin. Shower immediately after exercising so you won't get acne flare ups from your sweat.

  6. Step 6

Use non-comedogenic and hypo allergenic moisturizers and make up. Use as few products as possible on your skin to keep from clogging the pores. Use a moisturizer that is suited for you skin type.

  7. Step 7

Refrain from touching your face with your hands. Keep excess oils and bacteria from your hands away from your face as this may fuel acne outbreaks.
