Although the default appearance for the Firefox browser is functional, it isn't very pretty and leaves a lot to be desired aesthetically. To change the appearance on your Firefox browser, you can download any one of a number of custom themes from the Firefox website. Firefox themes are easy to install and give you the ability to customize your web browsing experience.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Upgrade to the latest version of Firefox if you haven't already done so. If you're not sure what version of Firefox you have installed on your computer, click on the word "Help" in the toolbar and select "About Mozilla Firefox" from the menu. The Firefox website will tell you what the current software version is so you know if you need to upgrade or not.

  2. Step 2

Browse available custom themes on the Firefox website. This is where you really get to have fun with Firefox. There are hundreds of themes available, and you can choose from any number of different categories.

  3. Step 3

Download one or more themes that you like. You can change between different themes depending on your mood.

  4. Step 4

Select "Addons" then "Themes" from your Tools menu in Firefox. Click the "UsT theme" button next to the theme that you want to use.

  5. Step 5

Restart your browser and Firefox now has custom colors.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also change some Firefox color preferences by typing "about:config" in your browser's address bar. It's best to avoid changing browser preferences this way unless you're very proficient with computer programming, because it could damage the browser.
