Computers and the Internet have provided us with a wonderful opportunity: working from home. There are a lot of work-at-home (WAH) jobs available if you know where to look for them. By using search engines on the Internet, you can find a WAH opportunity that's just right for you.

From Quick Guide: Work from Home
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Search for websites that list companies hiring at-home employees (see Resources).

  2. Step 2

Look over these websites to find jobs you would be interested in. Pay attention to any requirements the job has, the number of hours you're required to work or can work, what equipment you may need and the salary.

  3. Step 3

Sign up with a WAH job listing finder that lets you fill in your desired income, job skills and other information to help you find the job you want. Make sure you only use the services that are free (see Resources).

  4. Step 4

Consider searching for home business opportunities as well as part-time at-home jobs (see Resources).

  5. Step 5

Think about WAH jobs that can become a career for you rather than just be a job (see Resources).

  6. Step 6

Apply to the jobs that you are interested in.

  7. Step 7

Try out as many different at-home jobs as you can handle. You can let go of the jobs you don't like and keep the ones you do.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful of illegitimate WAH opportunities (see Resources).

on 5/6/2009 Working from home can be a real blessing but it is essential that you do your due diligence first before you become involved in any WAH endeavor. One of the main prerequisites is to know yourself and where you want to go and then be sure you are headed there with the opportunity that you have chosen. Les, Miraculous Coach

on 11/19/2008 Can we give it up for working at home?!!! LOL. I've been at home now for about 5 years. The last 3 I found at home jobs and in my glee. It's really difficult finding legit companies to work for. I myself started sending that link to a few family and friends, not to mention, myself, lol. Never keep all your eggs in one basket, lol. Thanks.

on 11/9/2008 There are so many opportunities out there these days. Working from home was never recognized and now, with the economy slipping away, everyone's trying to work from home. I wouldn't have it any other way. I've enjoyed working from home for the past 7 years and raising my beautiful family. Working from home is not for everyone but for those that can handle it, reap alll the benefits!
