2. Check the wiring in your car. Many times a car with electrical problems stalls. Take care of wiring issues before they cause serious damage to other parts of your car.

3. Determine if all cylinders in the car are firing. A car stops running if the gas in the cylinders isn't igniting. If there is not an electric charge then the gas will not ignite.

4. Increase your car's performance with a new fuel filter. The old fuel filter could have dirt particles blocking the flow of gas into the cylinders. A dirty fuel filter can cause a car to stall.

5. Install a new distributor cap, plugs and wires. If you have old wiring and plugs, the dirt will cause a misfire, which results in your car stalling.

6. Adjust the timing of your car-a screwdriver and an assistant is all you need. Your assistance will push on the gas while you adjust the timing.

7. Find a mechanic who is reliable if you are not a do-it-yourself mechanic. You can call the Better Business Bureau if you don't have a trusted mechanic already.
