Whether you have dry skin, oily skin, are concerned about signs of aging or are looking for a natural exfoliant and moisturizer, it may surprise you to know that one of the best skin care products is found right in your refrigerator. Milk, as well as milk products such as buttermilk, powdered milk and yogurt, can help to improve your skin.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Organic milk products (whole milk, buttermilk, powdered milk, yogurt)
  • Sea salts
  • Facial ingredients (honey, lemon, tomato, olive oil)

Step1
Purchase natural and organic milk products when using them to improve your skin. The antibiotics, chemicals, preservatives and hormones found in most traditional milk products should not be part of your skin care regime.
Step2
Wash your face with warm water and then apply an even coating of whole milk to your face and neck. Allow the milk to dry and then rinse with warm water. Repeating this cleansing and moisturizing treatment regularly will leave you with soft, clean, supple skin while helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Milk also contains lactic acid, which helps to remove dead skin cells and residues which cause acne.
Step3
Mix a bit of powdered milk with a teaspoon of sea salts and add enough water to make a paste. Gently massage the paste into your skin as a gentle exfoliant. Use this treatment on your entire body. Allow the paste to dry and then rinse with warm water.
Step4
Make your own facial masks to help improve skin, using plain, unsweetened organic yogurt as your base. You can then add lemon juice and honey for oily skin, tomato for combination skin or a splash of olive oil for dry skin. Leave the mask on for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash off with warm water.
Step5
Add 1 or 2 cups of milk to a warm tub and soak to help soften dry skin, reduce irritations due to chicken pox, rash, psoriasis or eczema and pamper yourself and your skin. For added benefit, add 1/2 cup of sea salt to the tub.
