The Basic Fake Bruise
-
1
Place the CD on a table with the shiny side up. Use your knife to scrape some lead onto the surface of the CD. Create a very small pile of lead.
-
2
Lift the CD and place it on the location you'd like to make the fake bruise.
-
-
3
Wet your finger and smudge the lead into the skin. Begin smudging from the inside out and blend the edges until they slowly fade away.
The More Advanced Fake Bruise
-
4
Dab some astringent onto a cotton pad and wash the face. A clean face helps hold the makeup on. A quick wipe on the area where you'll be putting the fake bruise is good enough.
-
5
Create the center red part of the bruise where the imaginary impact took place, usually along the bone.
-
6
Put some stage makeup on each of the four fingers of one hand in the order that they're listed in the "Things You'll Need" section.
-
7
Pat the burgundy stage makeup along where the impact would have occurred. Then pat the other colors in order of plum, green and midnight blue along the outside of the impact point you just created.
-
8
Clean the makeup from your hands and then use your fingers to blend the makeup you've just applied to the face. Tap, don't rub, and work from the middle out.
-
9
Pour some setting powder on a piece of paper towel on a table. Just tap it to get some out of the container. Press the powder puff into the powder, work it into the puff, and then tap off the excess. Lightly press the puff to the fake bruise you've just created to set it.

Tips & Warnings
You can also use gray as a shade for your bruise.
Study bruises so that you get an idea of what they look like so that you can create a realistic looking fake bruise.
This bruise is very temporary and won't last through rain or excessive sweating. It also isn't smudge proof. If you want a longer lasting fake bruise, then see the next section.
