How to Escape Embarrassing Moments
Everyone has had a moment when they wish they could just disappear right then and there. Unfortunately, it is not that easy. To escape embarrassing moments requires nerves, tact and a few good tips. It will not be easy but a person must remember that old saying that "What does not kill you makes you stronger."

1
Point to something off in the distance and yell, "Look at that." When everyone turns to look, you can make a hasty retreat and escape an embarrassing moment. Granted this will not solve the situation but the people will probably forget about the embarrassing moment and remember your creative exit instead.

2
Pretend that you meant for the embarrassing moment to happen. For instance, if you trip and fall, spring to your feet afterward and act like a gymnast who just landed a flip. This will take people's minds off the embarrassing moment and allow you to escape.

3
Make a joke that has nothing to do with the embarrassing moment. For example, say you knock over an expensive lamp. After you recover your wits, simply say "A priest, a rabbi and a monkey walk into a bar." If you can catch people off guard in the moment after the embarrassment, you can divert their attention.

4
Apologize and quickly leave the room or area. This may be the simplest and least creative solution, but often the simplest is the best. After all everyone has suffered through an embarrassing moment and will understand. The apology should be short and sweet because the longer you stick around the more likely the embarrassment will linger in the minds of the other people.

5
Act as if nothing happened and quickly walk away. This can work but it will depend on the specific situation. Chances are if you make a big deal about the situation it will give others permission to follow suit. If someone wants to talk about it just pretend as if you have no idea what they are talking about and escape the embarrassing moment as soon as possible.
