1. Patrol your town for yard sales. Many times people having yard sales will just want to get rid of magazines as opposed to selling them. These can be great places to find older issues, if you are interested in magazines from a historical standpoint.

2. Attend gun shows and look for giveaways. Many booths will have freebies in order to attract traffic. Many of these sellers will offer you a free magazine just for looking at their products.

3. Seek out free offers online. Sometimes gun magazines have specials where you can receive a year's free subscription for purchasing one year. In some cases they have totally free offers to celebrate a milestone. Keep an eye on your favorite magazines for these deals.

4. Look for deals that go along with purchasing products. Sometimes gun magazines and products work together as a giveaway. For example, if you buy three boxes of ammunition, you can send in the UPC codes for a free subscription to a magazine.

5. Keep an eye out for out-of-business gun stores or any place that would stock gun magazines. Often, distributors will not take magazines back from sellers. So when they go out of business, they leave perfectly good magazines in the recycling bin.
