Making a perfect paper star can be difficult. It is almost impossible to get all five points of the star exactly the same size. Here is how fold the paper into a shape and with a single cut make the perfect paper star.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 11 by 8.5 inch paper
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Lay a single sheet of 11 by 8.5-inch paper on a flat surface. Lay the paper so that the long side forms the bottom and top.

  2. Step 2

Fold the paper in half from left to right. Make sure to crease the paper carefully.

  3. Step 3

Use a ruler and pencil to mark the exact middle of the bottom of the folded sheet.

  4. Step 4

Take the top left corner of the paper and fold it down to the mark that you made in Step 3. Take the bottom left corner and fold the paper up to match the edge of the paper that was just folded down.

  5. Step 5

Pick the paper up and fold down the top right area of the paper underneath the rest of the paper until the edge matches that of the top edges that was created in Step 4. The paper will now be shaped like a diamond with one end elongated.

  6. Step 6

With the scissors, cut into the bottom corner of the triangle that is on the topmost layer. Cut the corner evenly so that it is divided in half. The folded layers of paper will form layers of triangles. The topmost layer will be formed out of the pointed tip of your folded paper.

  7. Step 7

Unfold the section that you cut away from the rest of the paper. It will open to a perfect star shape.
