Unique products tend to bring a better price on eBay than products that are being sold in higher quantities. That makes finding these products to sell a good investment of time and effort. There are several places where most people can find unique items that are perfect for eBay.

1. Look in places that don't sell too many of the same items. This includes boutiques and second-hand shops. These types of stores have items that are often one-of-a-kind, rare or vintage. It can take time to look through the items being offered, but most stores like this have plenty of interesting items to be found.

2. Shop at yard sales. Most people having a yard sale are looking to get rid of items and to clear out their clutter. They offer items at very low prices. This presents a perfect opportunity for someone to pick up items that are both unique and inexpensive enough to bring a profit when they are resold on eBay.

3. Pay attention to interesting new products that you see being sold and find out who the manufacturer is. You can usually get this information with a few online searches. By applying to the manufacturer to become a distributor, you can get a discounted price and buy as many of the product as you believe will sell, then sell them for profit on eBay.

4. Go to local auctions. Most areas have auction houses that auction estates and repossessed items. Look for auction houses in the local phone book and find out about auction times and what types of items are being sold. Most auctions have a time scheduled before the auction when the items will be on display.

5. Create something of your own design to sell. See the types of items that sell fast and try to create your own twist on popular items. Or when a holiday is approaching, such as July 4th, make a seasonal item like a door wreath or T-shirt for that holiday that are one-of-a-kind because they were made by hand.
