Buying baby clothing is fun, but the vast array of choices for little girls can be a bit overwhelming at first. There are so many cute little pink, frilly things to choose from, it's hard not to get caught up and go overboard. However, you can take some steps to buy baby clothing sensibly to get what you want at a price you can live with.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Remember that comfort is key. When you're buying for your baby girl, it's important that the baby's overall comfort level should come first. Get dresses and clothing that has elastic waistbands, especially in the beginning. Soft fabrics like cotton are always a good choice, and they feel much better against baby's delicate skin.

  2. Step 2

Keep it simple. Those five-piece outfits are cute, but you really don't need a matching hat, hair bow, socks and shoes to go with that dress. Stick with one- or two-piece outfits that are easy to match and wear. You'll need something easy to dress her in when you're sleep-deprived.

  3. Step 3

Find clothing that's easy to take care of. Cute linen dresses may be in style this season, but you won't want to iron it before or take it to the dry cleaner after every use. So stick with things that are machine washable.

  4. Step 4

Make sure that her outfits are safe. Baby girl clothes are notorious for having lots of buttons, ribbons and appliqués, but these can actually cause problems if they're in an area that baby can get hold of. Make sure that everything's securely fastened on and out of her reach.
