How to Build a Mobile Wakeboard Slider

Wakeboarders living on the edge can add a degree of difficulty by performing jumps over a wakeboard slider. If you get to the lake only occasionally, you can make a mobile version of this water jump to take with you every time you wakeboard.

Things You'll Need

  • 4 20-foot lengths of 3-inch PVC
  • 4 foam floats
  • Concrete blocks
  • Poles/cables
  • Bolts

Instructions

    • 1

Create a plan for the slider. Anything less than 20 feet is too short and can be dangerous; 30 feet or longer is ideal. You will need to place floats every 10 feet. The slider should be no taller than 2 1/2 feet above the water.

    • 2

Place the floats 10 feet apart on both sides. Place the PVC pipes on top of the floats with an unobstructed gap between the two sets of pipes. There should be two 20-feet lengths. Bolt the pipes to the floats.

    • 3

Turn the whole thing over and run a pole or cables through the floats. This will help to hold them down when the slider is in the water. You may need to drill holes or use something to help start the holes.

    • 4

Attach rope to the two end floats. You can attach the concrete blocks either ahead of time to the other ends of the ropes, or you can do this step on the boat before placing the slider in the water. This step is to keep the slider from floating away.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure the ends of the slider point down into the water for a smooth mount and dismount.
