When tomatoes are in season and plentiful, consider making a fresh tomato sandwich. The simplicity of this tomato sandwich allows the sweetness and juiciness of a ripe tomato to shine through. Follow these steps to make a delicious tomato sandwich.

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 2 lettuce leaves
  • 1 sliced tomato
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Slice of cheese
  1. Step 1

    Toast two slices of bread using a toaster or a toaster oven.

  2. Step 2

    Place one lettuce leaf on one of the slices of toasted bread.
