There's no better way to enjoy a winter day than by cuddling up in your own fleece blanket. If you make your own tie together fleece blanket, you've got tons of patterns, themes and occasions to choose from. This will get you started on making your own tie together fleece blanket.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy enough blanket fleece material at a fabric store so that you can have two pieces that are exactly the same size. You can have an exact square, a small square for a baby about 36 inches on each side or even a longer rectangular tie together fleece blanket. When cutting your size pieces remember that your finished blanket will be about eight inches smaller than you are cutting due to the cuts and ties you will make in later steps.

  2. Step 2

Put a twist on the traditional tie together fleece blanket. The sides can be the same exact color or the same theme or you can have blue on one side and pink on the other. You can have the moon and stars on one side and the sun and flowers on the other. Have your favorite sports team on one side and a solid color on the reverse side.

  3. Step 3

Spread your two fleece pieces out on a flat surface. Match up all the edges and trim any edges that aren't even.

  4. Step 4

Use books or something with a little weight to hold down the pieces from the center. You can also use clips or clothespins to hold the pieces together in several places around the edges.

  5. Step 5

Cut slits around the edges of the blanket around four inches in length and about one inch apart. Cut one or two on each side, and tie the top piece to the bottom piece with a small tie knot done twice. This will help hold the pieces even all the way around.

  6. Step 6

Finish tying all the top and bottom pieces together. Be sure to tie a top to its exact bottom tie to keep your blanket in alignment.

  7. Step 7

Cuddle up in your new tied together fleece blanket.
