How to Make a Quick and Easy Cake

There are many great apple cake recipes but to make them from scratch can be time consuming. To simplify the process, use this recipe and make a delicious, quick and easy apple cake in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Yellow cake mix
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Eggs
  • 1 can (21 oz.) of apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • ¼ tsp. of cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar
  • Bowls
  • Spoons
  • Mixer
  • Pan (13 inches by 9 inches by 2 inches )

Step1
Mix in a bowl the following ingredients: cake mix, oil, eggs and water. Set it aside. Follow the directions on the cake mix for the proper amounts water, oil and eggs as these quantities may vary depending on the mix.
Step2
Combine the apple pie filling, raisins, chopped walnuts (optional) and cinnamon in a bowl and set it aside.
Step3
Grease and flour the pan and pour half of the batter from Step 1 into the pan.
Step4
Spoon the entire apple filling mixture from Step 2 evenly over the batter.
Step5
Pour the remaining batter over the apple mixture. Spread the batter over the apple mixture evenly to ensure complete coverage of the mixture.
Step6
Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 350 F degrees for 35 minutes. Use a toothpick to test if it is done.
Step7
Remove the cake from the oven when done and let it cool for 10 minutes then dust with powdered sugar. Slice and serve the cake.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use spice cake mix for this recipe as well. The raisins and walnuts are optional ingredients.
