How to Make a Marshmallow Chocolate Treat

There is nothing better than the creamy combination of marshmallow and chocolate. After all, it's the basis for fudge. However, if you want to combine those heavenly ingredients with a slight variation so that you have more of a cookie bar, then here is a fantastic recipe for a chocolate marshmallow butter pecan cookie bar.   • Butter pecan cake mix
  • Butter
  • Water
  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Semisweet chocolate chips
  • Baking pan (9 x 13 or something of similar size)

      Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees. Remember to adjust for altitude if you live in a high elevation area.

      Combine the cake mix, butter and water and stir until the cake is moist and without lumps. An average cake mix will instruct you to add about a cup of water. However since you are making cookie bars, you want less moisture. Therefore only add 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup. Also, make sure the butter is melted before stirring it into the batter. A half stick melted will do the trick.

      Spray your baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Since there isn't much moisture in the cookie bars, sticking won't be much of an issue, but adding a little non-stick spray certainly won't hurt.

      Pour the batter into your baking pan.

      Add chocolate and mini-marshmallows on top in a thick layer. You're essentially creating a "crust" of chocolate and marshmallow.

      Bake in the oven for just 3 minutes. Remember because there is very little water, the cookie bar will bake quickly. To check if they're done, stick a toothpick in the middle. If the toothpick comes out clean, then your chocolate marshmallow treat is good to go.
