How to Make a Friendship Book
Create a one-of-a-kind friendship book to celebrate your memories and the fun you've shared with your best friend. Use materials you have around the house to make a special birthday or holiday gift. Let your creativity run wild and make your friend smile as she remember sthe good times.

Find a book, such as an empty photo album or scrapbook. You could also use sheets of paper hole-punched and tied together with yarn, cord or ribbon.

Decorate the friendship book. You can go all out and buy acid-free paper and scrapbooking supplies, or explore your attic or basement for magazines, greeting cards, wrapping paper, wall paper samples or scraps of fabric, buttons, beads, ribbons or yarn.

Use markers, colored pencils or even cutout words from old magazines to remind your friend of things you did together.

Collect things that remind you of places you and your friend went together and fun things you did. Use photos, tickets, programs from events, newspaper clips, notes you exchanged, postcards or CD covers.

Write in lyrics from songs you enjoyed together, lists of fun places you went, favorite games, jokes or snacks, or even favorite quotes you shared.

Set aside pages in the back of the book to collect comments or inscriptions from other friends. Suggest some topics such as "I Remember Your..." or "When we get famous..." You can include a page for your goals and dreams.

Choose a title, such as "Best Friends Forever," or "Things I'll Never Forget," and decorate the cover.

Tips & Warnings
Cut color photocopies of pictures into interesting shapes and paste them on a larger colored background. Paste yarn or use stickers to create a frame.
Paste in a decorated envelope or the back pocket of a pair of jeans to slip in a personal note to your friend.
Avoid damaging your photos by using color photocopies in your scrapbook.
