Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Variety of fresh fruits (chopped and frozen)
- Ice cubes
- Yogurt
- Blender
- Oatmeal (optional)
- Flaxseed or flaxseed oil (optional)
- Chilled green tea (optional)
- Tall glass
Step1
Chop and freeze a variety of fresh fruits so that they are ready to become a part of your delicious smoothies. If you are in a hurry and have no frozen fruit, simply use fresh fruit and ice cubes.
Step2
Start by adding 1 to 2 servings of yogurt to your blender. While sweet fruit is generally enough to flavor the yogurt, you can use flavored or sweetened yogurt if you like. For a low-fat smoothie, make sure you get low-fat yogurt.
Step3
Add your frozen fruit or fresh fruit and ice cubes on top of the yogurt and add any extras you may like. You can add a banana to thicken up your smoothie, oatmeal to get your grains and thicken the texture, flaxseed meal or flaxseed oil for your daily dose of omega 3 or even chilled green tea.
Step4
Blend your smoothie and then test the flavor. If you like, add up to 1 tbsp. of raw honey; however, go easy as there are lots of calories in honey. You can always add a sweet fruit, like pineapple or orange.
Step5
When your reach your desired flavor, pour your delicious smoothie into a tall glass and enjoy.
