Music is a great thing to have all around us. It can calm and relax us after a hard day. It can help us focus. It can enhance a party. But you won't be hearing anything if you don't have your speakers installed. Don't start running for help just yet. Installing speakers is easy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Buy your speakers. Obviously, the quality of sound that the speakers will put out is dependent on how much money you want to spend on them. Try not to skimp too much when it comes to sound. Hearing music through terrible speakers all the time is like a visually impaired person walking around without glasses. They may get used to how weird everything looks, but as soon as they put their glasses on they become aware of how much they are missing out on.
Step2
Find a good spot for your speakers. If you already have a stereo system, this step may be done for you. It is advised to rethink your home entertainment setup to make sure you are getting the best out of it. You'll want your speakers to be in an open place so they can broadcast as far as possible.
Step3
Position your speakers so that sound hits every spot in the room. Think of your speakers emanating sound in long, semicircular waves. If you have just two speakers, place them in the corners of the room and point them at the center of the room. Make sure they are unobstructed. The more speakers you have, the better the sound quality will be and the more options you will have for speaker placement.
Step4
Connect the speakers to the stereo system. It may look like a job for an electrician, but you can do it. There should be a long wire coming out of the back of the speaker. At the other end, it separates into two red and black wires with exposed ends. On your stereo system, there will be holes in the back with corresponding red and black clamps on them. Push back the red tab and insert the exposed red end of the speaker wire. Do the same for the black in the black hole.
Step5
Test your system to see if it works. If you don't hear any sound, perhaps you didn't secure a wire good enough. Recheck your connections in the back. If it still doesn't work, check the power, volume and any other possible thing that could be wrong with it. If all that fails, call for help. An electronics store or the speaker's 800 number should be able to help.
