Knowing how to write every day and alleviate writer's block is a skill that keeps you from anxiety-based procrastination. Generating a different pattern of thought is the trick to eliminating your fears about the value, depth and need for your writing. Be empowered, relaxed, open and ready to write creatively.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Get Motivated

Step1
Make writing a priority. Decide what your priorities are, and place "writing every day" on that list. Maintain the belief that writing is a priority and important. Consciously make time for it.
Step2
Write about something you care about. You add value to your new priority and your work when you know it has a cause.
Step3
Create a goal for your writing. Keeping a goal in mind for your writing will keep you motivated. The goal can be as simple as a deadline you give yourself, or as complex as a business plan to become a freelance writer. Choose a goal that keeps you motivated and focused.

Kick Writer's Block

Step1
Take notes. Writing about something you care about entails research. Your morning writing ritual should include checking a blog that inspires you, looking up new websites that revolve around your interests and taking notes. The act of manually writing down inspiring ideas and phrases gets your creativity flowing.
Step2
Start a blog of your own. Blogs are a great tool to keep you writing every day. Your blog should be on a subject that's on your mind constantly, so you can easily add to it twice a day. Blogs often inspire a community, which also enhance your motivation to write.
Step3
Correspond with someone you haven't talked to in a while. Manually writing a letter or note will stir your mind to remember current events, places and interactions that will get you writing. It's more formal than journaling and less focused than blogging, which can bring new ideas to the front.
Step4
Free associate when you feel the need to sit and write, but can't write a single word. It's time to look your block in the face. Flow with your thought process by writing random thoughts that drift into your mind. Manually writing or typing will spark a flow of energy that can send you in a creative direction.
