Read an advertisement in a newspaper or other public place and notice the advertisement's description of attractive land for sale for low prices. If you're interested, call the number on the advertisement.

Listen as the scammer introduces himself. The scammer usually claims that he is a representative of a firm or a company that specializes in land ownership.

Pay attention as the scammer tells you about the great property he has available. Something enticing will be included with its description. Prime property may be described and the scammer may say that the land is in the perfect location on which to start a vacation resort or retirement community. Very low prices may also be used to convince you to purchase the land.

Wait for the pitch. The scammer will emphasize the deal by repeating the land's supposed great attributes. He'll also tell you that an immediate purchase is necessary because the land will only remain the company's for a little bit longer.
