How to Wipe Down a Microwave

Almost everyone has a microwave today. They are very practical and useful for cooking or heating a quick meal. However, one of the most important parts of a microwave is cleaning it properly. Eating food from a dirty microwave can cause food borne illnesses. Therefore, it is very important that you clean your microwave frequently. Read on to learn how to wipe down a microwave.

Things You'll Need:

  • A clean cloth
  • A bucket of warm soapy water
  • A micro cloth
  • A pair of rubber gloves
  1. Step 1

    Fill the bucket with warm soapy water using dish washing liquid. Make sure the water is not too hot because you will put your hands into the water.

  2. Step 2

    Put on the rubber gloves. Dip the clean wash cloth into the warm, soapy water and ring out the excess water.

  3. Step 3

    Wipe down all of the walls and floor of the microwave oven. Make sure you get all of the stuck on food all around the microwave surface. Clean and ring out your towel in the warm soapy water as needed.

  4. Step 4

    Wipe the walls and the microwave floor with the dry micro cloth. The micro cloth will absorb all of the water. Wipe out all of the excess water.

  5. Step 5

    Close the microwave door and wipe down the outside of the microwave with the micro cloth. Be careful not to push the buttons on the microwave.

  6. Step 6

    Run the microwave on a one minute cycle to dry out any missed water and to burn off the smell of any soap residue.
