Step 1
Collect old pantyhose. Instead of throwing out pantyhose with holes or runs, toss them into a bucket in your laundry room. Before you begin coloring Easter eggs, you can retrieve them.
-
Step 2
Cut the legs of the pantyhose into 6-inch sections. Again, don't worry about sections with small holes or runs; they work fine for coloring Easter eggs.
-
Step 3
Tie a knot in one end of the pantyhose section. You don't need to leave extra space on this end, so make the knot as close to the edge as possible.
-
Step 4
Put a hard-boiled egg into the open end of the pantyhose holder. You can add decorations like flowers, leaves or confetti inside the holder to make unique decorations. The pantyhose section prevents these extra items from shifting during the dying process, so don't worry about glue.
-
Step 5
Make a second knot on top of the egg. To prevent the egg or additional items from slipping, tie the knot as close to the top of the egg as possible. This should leave a section of pantyhose for holding the entire pouch.
-
Step 6
Set the egg inside a cup of dye. Hang the extra section of pantyhose over the top of the cup. Once you finish coloring the Easter egg, gently pull on this section to get the holder out of the dye.
