Nativity scenes are a staple in Christian homes at Christmas time. These Christmas decorations are normally made of ceramic, glass or other breakable materials. This makes packing the nativity scene for storage an important task. Packing your nativity scene correctly ensures it will not break before next Christmas. Read on to learn how to pack Nativity figures.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bubble wrap or newspaper
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Original nativity scene box or storage container
  1. Step 1

Clear off a table or flat surface to work on. The surface needs to be large enough to lay out a newspaper.

  2. Step 2

Stretch out the bubble wrap or newspaper. Bubble wrap is available at stores that sell shipping supplies.

  3. Step 3

Lay one of the nativity figures onto the paper or bubble wrap. Wrap the bubble wrap around the figure two or three times. Cut off the excess with the scissors. If using the newspaper, wrap the paper around the figure five to 10 times.

  4. Step 4

Squeeze the paper or bubble around the figure and tape the ends down to hold the packing in place. One piece of tape works for the small nativity pieces. Larger pieces require three to five pieces to hold the packing material in place.

  5. Step 5

Wrap the remainder of the nativity scene in this fashion. If the stable part of the nativity does not have the original packaging, wrap it up as well.

  6. Step 6

Pack all of the pieces in the original box or in a storage container. Place the figures in the box starting with the largest piece and ending with the smallest piece. Fill empty space in the box with extra packing material or other soft Christmas decorations.
