If you want to dye your hair a unique subtle red color, this technique works wonders on virgin hair. If you do what is explained in this article, your hair will give off a type of henna effect to a definite change of hair color depending on how little or how much of this product that you determine to use.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • peroxide

Step1
Buy a bottle of Peroxide. Yes the same one you use to find in your family medicine cabinet.
Step2
determine if you want the entire color of your hair to be changed, if you want a design or a particular area.
Step3
determine if you want you hair to look drastically different or just a highlight different. The more you use the more burgundy reddish or burnt red it is going to get.
Step4
wash and dry you hair.
Step5
massage the whole head with peroxide or put it on sparingly in key areas. You could try letting it dry naturally in the sun. Don't stay too long at first. Just keep checking and loving it. Remember the easiest way in these things is to just do a test run.
Step6
Before you try to dye your hair red without dyeing using this natural method, plan to test it out for a day or two using a small area of your hair. And duplicate what you did in other areas of your hair. You can create all kind of looks with the method with little side efforts. I mean you want to keep the liquid from your eyes obviously.

Tips & Warnings

  • the quicker and longer you go out into the sun, the quicker your hair we take on the effects of your personal color.
  • The method is a good substitute for henna coloring
  • it can be repeated. so if you want to test it
  • you can try washing your hair if you like again in a couple of days or if you think the color is the way you want it.
  • the hotter the sun, the more brilliant the color, so as you are determining what you think you want take in consideration that you are going to need alot less if you're coloring your hair during the high time of the sun.
  • this can be a semi-permanent coloring. Everyone's hair is different, it could take a few weeks or months to grow out. And if you use a whole lot of it during the summer months, it could take as long as a year
  • it works best on hair that hasn't been over processed
  • it is not for covering up gray or discolored hair and should ONLY be used on dark hair, the darker the better.
  • if you are a person who has allergies, try using a small strand someone on your head
  • Keep in mind perms have peroxide in it. I don't know how much lighter your hair will get if you decide to perm it after using this method, but it will never be bright red.
  • Do not perm you hair for at least 2 to 3 weeks after using this technique
