How to Become and Live as a Vampire in "The Sims 2"
The fun of "The Sims 2" comes from exploring both the world you're given and the world you create. One of the paths you can choose for a character is that of vampire. The game doesn't make this path easy, so here are some tips on how to become and live like a vampire in this game.
Instructions
-
Become a Vampire
-
1
Purchase and install the "Nightlife" expansion pack for "The Sims 2." Without this pack, vampirism isn't an option for characters.
-
2
Take two characters Downtown. One of the characters should be the one that you want to become a vampire. The other should be someone with a good influence level.
-
-
3
Hang out until night falls. You should see one or two characters walking around with a bluish tint to their skin and theatrical attire. The vampire distinctly says "bleh, bleh," as he wanders around.
-
4
Establish a relationship with the vampire using the influential Sim, and build upon it. If you can't get a good score while there, don't be afraid to call up the vampire or invite it over for drinks. It won't come over during the day.
-
5
Influence the vampire to bite the character you want to be a vampire.
Sustain the Vampire
-
6
Purchase a coffin to sleep in right away. Feel free to sell off your old bed, as the vampire will try to sleep in it if you let him.
-
7
Remove windows from any areas that the vampire might frequent during the daytime. This includes a bedroom, a hallway and at least one bathroom. Using a coffin keeps your need meters from moving, but that doesn't mean that something won't happen that requires your vampire to get up.
-
8
Quit your day job. Keep whatever work you do between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Since your vampire isn't going to be needing anything real soon, you can take up some sort of art or craft that can be sold at home.
Cheat Your Way to Vampirism
-
9
Enter the estate of the Sim you want to transform into a vampire.
-
10
Activate the cheat console by simultaneously pressing Ctrl+Shift+C. A bar should appear across the top of the screen.
-
11
Type the following into the bar: "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true".
-
12
Select the Sim you want to change into a vampire and pan through the menus until you find the option "Make Vampire!" Click on it.
-
13
Return to normal mode by typing: "boolprop testingcheatsenabled false" into the bar.

Tips & Warnings
If being a vampire isn't your cup of... wine, you only need summon the local gypsy to purchase a cure.
It's better, though not realistic, to remove the windows from the entire house, instead of specific areas.
Vampires randomly bite people if they don't have something in their activity queue. Keep that in mind if they have roommates that you want to keep "normal."
Don't let your vampire roam about outside during daytime. This hurts your vampire and drastically effect her need bars.
