Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide on your definition of famous. It is important to understand that you can be famous in different ways. You can, for example, be famous in your local area or you can be famous worldwide.

  2. Step 2

Pick the type of acting you want to do. You can pick comedy, commercial, drama, theater or musical, just to name a few. By picking just one type of acting, you can focus your energy and time on improving the skills needed for that type of job.

  3. Step 3

Set realistic goals for your fame. Start small. Every actor has acted in small parts in hopes of making it big.

  4. Step 4

Go to as many acting calls as possible. If you live in a small town, check the nearby towns for acting jobs. You may need to travel or relocate to a very large city, like New York or Los Angeles, if you are looking to become a major acting icon.

  5. Step 5

Accept all jobs that are within your moral standards. This is especially important when you are just starting out. The more jobs you do, the more likely you are to be noticed. Make sure that you pass up the sleazy jobs. These will lead to you being labeled as a low class actor.

  6. Step 6

Hire an agent. You will have more calls available to you by going through an agent. Sometimes, you can only attend a call if your agent has made you an appointment. When you hire an agent, make sure that you have an attorney look at the contract before you sign it to be sure it is legal and ethical.

  7. Step 7

Continue working hard until you become famous. Keep in mind that most famous people only stay famous for a short period of time. Regardless of the length or extent of your fame, as long as you are happy, you have made it big.
