How to Do a 180 Boneless on a Skateboard

The 180 Boneless is a beginning flat ground skateboarding trick. Although it only features a half-spin, the trick has a style that's undoubtedly unique and pretty appealing. Even more importantly, though, the 180 Boneless is a good foundation move for learning harder skateboarding tricks, like flip tricks and advanced spins. With a little bit of practice and the help of these instructions, you'll have the trick down in no time.

    Instructions

      • 1

Ride forward on your skateboard in your regular stance. You can do the boneless riding switch, but for now focus on doing it regular.

      • 2

Position your back foot over the rear kicktail and your front foot just behind the front bolts.

      • 3

Reach down with your back arm and grab the skateboard's deck between your legs. A normal grip with your thumb on top of and your fingers beneath the deck iis best.

      • 4

Step off the deck with your front foot and plant it on the ground next to the skateboard.

      • 5

Push off of the ground with your planted foot. At the same time, begin turning your body so you're facing forward. Lift the skateboard with your hand and keep your rear foot planted firmly on the deck.

      • 6

Draw your legs up underneath you and complete the 180-degree spin.

      • 7

Set your board back on the ground and roll away in the same direction you started traveling.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Give the 180 Boneless a shot on a small ramp once you've mastered it on the ground.
