1. Check the history on the computer. Your computer keeps a record of all websites visited. Having a blank history after your significant other gets off of the computer should throw up a red flag.

2. Watch out for changed passwords. If your spouse has always had the same password and then changes it, that is a sign that there may be an online affair in progress.

3. Pay attention to avenues of communication such as email, instant messaging and phone records. These are all ways that people who are cheating online will communicate with their cyber partner.

4. Look at credit card and bank statements. A lot of online affairs happen through dating or sex sights. Be on the look out for suspicious charges on your statements. If you find some, call the company to find out the specifics about the charges before you confront your spouse. Most companies can provide a user name or email address associated with the account. Check these out and use the information when you confront your spouse.

5. Move the computer to a spot that is very visible. This will make it easier for you to see what your spouse is doing and harder for her to have any privacy to chat with her cyber affair.

6. Create another email account under a fake name. Contact your spouse using that email address. If he or she responds and neglects to say that they are in a relationship, then she or he is probably cheating.

7. Ask straight out if he or she is having an online affair. Sometimes, a person will admit to cheating when things are getting out of hand or too hard to hide.
