How to Get the Love of God

Most Christians have strong desire to get God to love them. Getting the love of God requires a multi-faceted approach to enhance your relationship with God and people. Praying and studying the Bible will help you to get God's love.

Instructions

1. Understand that God loves everyone. God created man in His own image. God loves us all regardless of our actions. Getting the love of God means accepting that God loves you.

2. Pray about God's love. Christians communicate with God through prayer. Ask God to remind you of His love. Keep in mind that praying means that you talk to God and listen to Him.

3. Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. God loves us so much that He allowed His only son, Jesus, to die so that He can forgive our sins. When you accept this as the truth in your heart, you will feel the love of God.

4. Read and study the Bible. The Bible is full of things that God promises for us such as eternal life in His house if we accept and do His will. All of these promises are meant to show us that God loves us.

5. Love everyone, even your enemies. In 1 Corinthians 13, we learn that we must love everyone if we want to truly follow God's will. When you give love, you will feel love.

6. Trust God. Unpleasant things will happen to you. That is a part of life. If you trust that even the bad things will lead to the good things that God has in store for you, it will be much easier for you to feel His love.

7. Thank God daily. It is important that you thank God for the good things and the bad things that happen to you. It is equally important to thank God for the big things and the little things around you. God provides us with everything, even air and a beating heart. It is impossible to run out of things to thank Him for every day.
