How to Fly in Dreams
Every person has imagined what it would feel like to fly over buildings and soar like birds. While dreaming, you can do things that you can't do in real life, including flying. Researchers have now found evidence that you can control your dreams and provide yourself with the sensation of flying.

1
Learn about the theory of lucid dreaming which involves a period of sleep where you consciously realize that you're dreaming and still remain in the dream state. You can read more about the theory of lucid dreaming on the Lucidity Institute's website (see Resources).
-
2
Try to move your body in the dream. Instead of trying to wake yourself up once you realize you're dreaming, attempt to move a part of your dream body instead. For instance, concentrate on shaking your dream hand. The more you practice this, the more things about your dream you'll have the ability to control.

3
Focus your mind on flying. As you fall asleep, tell yourself that the next time you dream, you'll imagine yourself flying. Let your mind consider as many details as possible such as the way things look in flight and the wind on your face.
-
4
Think about the dream as soon as you wake up. Keep a journal next to your bed and make a habit of recording your dreams each night. This helps you remember your flying dreams better once waking. If you don't dream of flying right away, just keep focusing your mind before sleep and then trying to control your body's movements while lucid dreaming.

Very interesting article. I have always been interested in lucid dreaming. I often dream I am flying over fields and mountains just before I fall asleep, but if I become too aware and try to look too closely, the images fade.
