Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Start up your computer and then open My Computer.
Step2
Right click in any open space of the My Computer menu and then select Properties from the drop-down menu.
Step3
Locate the General tab and find the general information about your PC. In this area you'll find your hard drive capacity, operating system and/or its version as well as your PCs RAM.
Step4
Click Start, then Run and type "dxdiag" in the run field. This will provide a lot of information about your PC including the RAM. Doing this is a little quicker and more informative than the steps above, but you may have to decipher some things you're unfamiliar with to find the RAM information.
Step5
Consider upgrading your RAM. Most new computers have 512 megabytes of RAM up to 2 gigabytes. If you have an older PC, you probably only have up 128 megabytes of RAM. If you view video content online, 128 megabytes isn't enough and you should consider upgrading your RAM. Failure to do so will likely make your PC run slowly and could also cost you some data.
