How to Find the Skulls in Halo 3

Finding the hidden skulls is one of the favorite sidequests in the Halo campaign mode. These skulls can make the game easier or more challenging for the player once they're found. There are 13 skulls for you to find in Halo 3.

Instructions

Gold Skulls

1. Get the iron skull on the Sierra 117 level, just before you rescue Sergeant Johnson. Jump onto a block lined with pipes to the right of the bridge. Jump onto the balcony at the block's end and find the skull behind a pillar at the end.

2. Start the Crow's Nest level and jump on the black metal rack near the barracks door. Jump from the rack to the black pipes to the brown pipe. The Black Eye skull is at the other end of the brown pipe.

3. Find the Tough Luck skull on Tsavo Highway. When you reach the long, winding bridge and yellow ladders, take the last ladder. Get around the large metal bar and jump down to the black support. The skull is across a gap at the support's end.

4. Locate the Catch skull in The Storm level. It's on top of the silo where you battle two wraiths and a number of ghosts. There are several ways to get on top, like using a vehicle, deployable cover or another player as a stepping stone.

5. Enter the city of Voi in the Floodgate level. Early on, you should see a flood combat form on a building to your right. If you kill the flood before or as it jumps, the Fog skull should fall down from the same building.

6. Look for the Famine skull in the later part of The Ark level. Take the right-hand road where your path splits, then scale the rocks onto the large structure you'll find. Grenade-jump onto the last support beam to your left for the skull.

7. Fly a Hornet in The Covenant level to the second force field generator. Ignore the message that it's already disabled and fly to the ramp leading to the structure's midsection. The Thunderstorm skull is on the ramp.

Silver Skulls

1. Go to the waterfall at the start of the Sierra 117 level, where the Phantom is dropping off troops. Kill all the troops and move right of the area toward the lake. The Blind skull is on the rocks that extend into the water.

2. Drop down the hole you'll find heading for the barracks in Crow's Nest. At the end of the wide corridor with the pipes, aim for the small ledge when you drop off the edge, walking backwards quickly as you fall. Get the Grunt Birthday Party skull.

3. Start The Ark level at the very beginning. The Cowbell skull is in a building in the desert after you battle the Scarab. It's on the highest platform in the high room beyond the plasma containers. Use a Gravity Lift or Brute Chopper to get it.

4. Complete the entire mission until you reach the final scene with the Prophet of Truth. Destroy all the Covenant and Flood troops from the bridge and jump through the seven rings in a specific pattern for the I Would Have Been Your Daddy skull.

Tips & Warnings

• The Tilt skull is in the Cortana level, in the building where Cortana's voice says she likes to play games. Leap onto the step-like extrusions in the wall to your left and then jump onto the ceiling's upper level. The skull is in some muck at the end of the Flood tentacle.

• You can find the Mythic skull near the start of the Halo level. Stay close to the right side wall as you walk along the snow-covered ridge, and look for a dark path to your right as you enter the cave. The skull is at the end of the path.

• The pattern to jump through the rings is 4-6-5-4-5-3-4. Keep this in mind: the ring at the elevator is 1, while the ring next to the Prophet is 7.
