1
Become a certified personal trainer in your state. Each state has slightly different rules and regulations when it comes to becoming certified. You'll take a balance of nutrition and exercise training course ending with a comprehensive test which covers all of those areas. Usually these certifications can be accomplished within 3 months.

2
Keep yourself in impeccable shape. If you are a trainer at a local gym, you can be a little overweight and still give good advice to the average person. However, if you want to be a celebrity personal trainer, you must have a physique that inspires them. This means keeping up your own nutrition and exercise regimen. Remember that your best advertising tool is yourself.

3
Apply for a job at a high end gym. Your best shots to be a celebrity trainer will be in the cities where celebrities live. Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Boston, Dallas and Atlanta are good places to consider living. Also, living near a sports team facility will also give you access to sports players. This is a good option if you don't want to leave your home state, but still train local celebrities. Apply for the job at the higher end gyms such as the Equinox franchise or LA Sports Club franchise.

4
Sell your services to the celebrities that train at the gym. When you see a celebrity begin to work out at the gym, approach them and offer to give them a few tips. You'll have to follow the rules of your gym chain as many have guidelines about soliciting clients. However a safe bet is to build a rapport with a potential celebrity client over time, and then waiting for them to purchase a training package from you.

5
Contact the representation for a given celebrity and offer to train them for free. Another way to work outside of the gym system is to contact a celebrity's manager or publicist. Ask if you can submit materials on your training credentials and offer to give them a 10-session training free of charge. Just note that this model requires you have your own equipment or a gym which will let you train outside clients (which most tend to frown upon.)

6
Be available for the celebrities on their schedule. The higher the level of celebrity, the crazier their schedule. You should realize that their schedule will dominate yours. It's a trade-off to being a celebrity personal trainer, but one that is worth making, as their name will be the calling card of your business during its inception.
