Step 1
Map out the placement of the camera remembering that the solar panel will require several hours of sunlight daily to keep a charge. Exterior walls and indoor installations near windows generally provide an adequate light source.
-
Step 2
Set the receiving unit up within the range provided by the manufacturer. Keep in mind that walls, wiring and even the movement of people or pets can negate these wireless ratings. Test the connection under multiple conditions to ensure full time operation.
-
Step 3
Mount the wireless security camera using the instruction provided by the manufacturer. Use a solid wall or stud when mounting and verify there are no wires or pipes to damage when drilling. Ensure the camera is getting a clear picture of the area you desire and test camera movement if included.
-
Step 4
Connect a VCR or digital recording device to store images and video caught by the camera. Internet ready systems deliver images and live video by assigning an IP under "Outside Connections" and filling in the required information. This also gives you control of camera movement if available on your chosen system.
