    • Henna powder
    • Dried chamomile
    • Plastic wrap or plastic bag
      • 1

Highlight your hair with henna powder. Mix a small amount of henna powder with dried chamomile. Add boiling water, a little at a time, until it forms a thick paste.

      • 2

Put a bit of the paste on a small piece of hair so you'll know how it will work on your hair, and if you're satisfied with the color.

      • 3

Wet your hair, then apply the henna mixture through your damp hair. Comb it through to be sure it's evenly distributed.

      • 4

Wrap your hair in plastic wrap or a plastic bag, and let the henna remain for at least 30 minutes, and up to 2 hours. Darker hair will require the henna to stay in the hair longer.

    Tips & Warnings

    • An egg bath is a quick and easy way to bring out your hair's naturally highlights. Just whisk the egg in a bowl and rub it into your hair. Wrap your hair in plastic wrap and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse the egg out of your hair with cool water, and wash as usual.

    • Avoid using lemon juice to lighten dark hair, because it can sometimes turn dark hair orange.
