How to Make an Herbal Dandruff Rinse
Dandruff is annoying and embarrassing, but often, commercial dandruff products aren't effective, and the strong chemicals are hard on your scalp and dry out your hair. Herbal dandruff rinses treat dandruff safely, and will leave your hair smelling great. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Saucepan
- 2 cups water
- 1 tsp. dried lemon balm, or 1 tbsp. fresh lemon balm
- 1 tsp. dried chamomile or 1 tbsp. fresh chamomile
- 1 tsp. dried red clover or 1 tbsp. fresh red clover
- 1 tsp. dried peppermint or 1 tbsp. fresh peppermint
- Glass mixing bowl
- 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
- 2 plastic bottles
- 1 can or bottle of beer

Fill a saucepan with water and bring it to a boil.

Put the lemon balm, chamomile, red clover and peppermint in a large glass mixing bowl and pour the boiling water over them. Allow the herbs to steep in the water for 15 minutes. Stir in the apple cider vinegar and allow the mixture to cool, then pour it in a plastic bottle and put it in the refrigerator.

Open the can or bottle of beer and set aside long enough to go flat. Pour the flat beer in a separate plastic bottle and put it the refrigerator.

Heat the herbal mixture in the microwave when you're ready to apply the herbal dandruff rinse. The mixture should be warm to the touch, but not hot.

Heat the plastic bottle of beer until it's warm to the touch.

Wash your hair as usual, then massage the beer through your hair thoroughly and rinse.

Pour the herb mixture over your hair, work it in throughly, and rinse.
