How to Make a Snowball
When winter comes and the snow falls, you have two choices: You can stay inside near a cozy fire, or you can bundle up and enjoy the snow for hours of icy fun. Making a snowball may not seem like a thought-intensive activity, bu you can get an advantage during a snowball fight if you know how to make the perfect snow projectile.

1
Find the perfect snow to make snowballs. If you step into the snow and hear nothing, the snow is too powdery and will simply fall apart before forming a snowball. If the snow slushes, it is too wet and will fall apart. If the snow crunches beneath your feet, you have hit the jackpot for snowball-making material.

2
Pack the snow down with your feet over a large area if all you have available is powdery snow. If left alone for a few minutes, the powdery snow will slowly melt enough to form packable snow.

Scoop up enough snow to fill both of your hands, and gently press your cupped hands together. Rotate your hands as your roll the ball of snow around, packing it gently together. While you want to be gentle enough that you do not crumble your snowball, make sure that your pressure is firm enough to pack the snow before it falls to the ground.
