How to Make a Hand Scrub

Hand scrubs are a terrific way to exfoliate the dead skin cells in the outer layer of your hands, leaving them soft and smooth. There are several way to make effective and inexpensive hand scrubs out of ingredients in your kitchen. Does this Spark an idea?

      Put 2 tablespoons of old fashioned oatmeal in a cup, and pour in a 1/4 cup of warm water. Let the oatmeal soften in the warm water for 10 minutes, and then stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of cold-pressed olive oil. Massage the oatmeal mixture into your hands, and don't rinse it off for about two minutes. Then, rinse your hands with cool water, pat them dry and apply lotion.

      Mix 1 cup of sea salt with 1/4 cup of liquid castile soap and 1/4 cup of olive oil. Add a few drops of scented essential oil, if desired. Put the scrub on your dry hands, and massage it in for about a minute. Rinse the scrub with warm water.

      Blend 1 tablespoon of honey with 2 teaspoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of heavy cream. Wash your hands, and massage the mixture into your wet hands. Let the scrub remain on your hands for four to five minutes, and rinse with warm water.

      Put 2/3 cup of white or brown sugar in a bowl, and stir in 4 tablespoons of sweet almond oil and the juice of one freshly squeezed lemon. Massage the sugar scrub into your hands, rinse with warm water and apply your favorite lotion.
