A candy wreath makes a sweet decoration for all of your holiday celebrations. Make a pink and white candy wreath for Valentine's Day, a black and orange wreath for Halloween, or a red, white and blue wreath for Independence Day.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Curling ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Wide variety of wrapped candies
  • Wire or straw wreath form
  • Additional embellishments, such as tiny toys or favors (optional)
  1. Step 1

Cut the curling ribbon into several 10- to 12-inch lengths with a pair of scissors.

  2. Step 2

Tie a piece of ribbon around a piece of wrapped candy, and then attach the candy to the wreath form by working the end of the ribbon into the form and tying a knot. Curl the ends of the ribbon by holding them taught against the side of the scissor blade and pulling it down the length of the ribbon.

  3. Step 3

Continue adding hard candy to the wreath, bunching them tightly together until the wreath is completely filled. Include a variety of shapes, such as round jawbreakers or mints, long candy, such as lollipops and candy sticks, and oblong candies, such as tootsie rolls.

  4. Step 4

Tie on some small favors, such as plastic firecrackers or tiny flags for Independence Day, small trains or gingerbread men for Christmas, spiders and bats for Halloween, bunnies for Easter and hearts for Valentine's Day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Candy wreaths make great decorations for wedding showers and baby showers. For a wedding shower, use hard candy in the bride's chosen color scheme. For a baby shower, use candy in pastel colors and attach a few baby rattles and tiny stuffed animals.
  • If you plan to hang your candy in a warm room, don't choose candies that will melt easily.
