Beaded curtains are nothing new and a fantastic way to add a creative touch to just about any window or door. However, you don't have to follow the traditional style when making your beaded curtain. Construct your curtain in the same basic way, but get creative and theme a curtain for just about any event.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Find a use for those incomplete decks of cards, and make a beaded curtain for the card player in your family. Make your curtain chains by making holes in the cards with a hole punch and then connecting the cards with chain links as used in jewelry making. You can then tie the card chains onto your curtain support with wire or sturdy string.
Step2
Get fishy and make a special beaded curtain for the fisherman in your life. Gather multiple brightly colored fishing lures, line buoys and even small toy fish, and string them together to make your curtain chains. Many lures can be joined together by simply twisting the hooks tightly, otherwise you can use fishing line and a sharp needle to make the chains.
Step3
Make a macaroni curtain--a fun project for kids. You can pile the macaroni onto various pieces of newspaper, and then spray paint them various colors. Slip the macaroni onto fishing line, and secure the chains onto your support bar. You can even use hot glue and decorative gems or sequins to add a touch of sparkle to your macaroni masterpiece.
Step4
Save those old, scratched and damaged CDs, and make yourself a sparkling beaded curtain from your old musical favorites. Carefully drill holes on the top and bottoms of the CDs and tie them together with pretty ribbon.
Step5
Collect metal bottle caps, and slowly build your curtain chains for a unique beaded curtain perfect for a home bar. Using a tiny drill bit, make a hole on each side of the bottle cap, and then connect the caps with chain links. This curtain may take extra time, but if you ask nicely, many local bars and taverns would be happy to help add to your collection.
